Spiral staircase going down

Here is another photo from the shoot on Saturday. This one features Katie Crouch looking rather seductive on a spiral staircase wearing not much more than an umbrella.

Let me stand next your fire

So I was asked by my friend Emma if I could help her out and take some photographs of her and some of her friends who are doing an art course at the University of East Anglia, to be made into a calender they want to sell to raise money to go towards their end of year show. Naturally I said yes.

We went out to an amazing old house in the beautiful Suffolk countryside yesterday, totally in the sticks, to shoot for the day. The day was fueled by coffee, pizza & slo gin, it was a really fun day thanks to all the girls.

I'll let you know when/where the calender is available once it is made, which shouldnt be long at all, it will also be dead affordable.
The photos will gradually appear one by one on here to.

Here is the first photo which features Emma Daniels sat by the fire knitting herself some clothes to wear as she somehow completely forgot her out fit, woops....... enjoy.

Adam Howe: seeing is believing

Here is Adam Howe, fs smith to fs 360 out sequence and a couple of portraits which we shot last week.

I've known Ad for years and been capturing him skating since the day we met, he has literally never stopped progressing on his skateboard. No matter what changes for him in his life or in the skateboarding world, he has always remained the same person. Always a pleasure to be out with, forever pushing himself forward and a lot of fun to be around.
Dont ever play s.k.a.t.e with him and expect to win. You will get shut down! Seeing him is believing. He is someone who I consider one of my closest friends and also one of my favorite skateboarders. I hope you enjoy Adams skating as much as I do.

please vote for the SHINER edit to help Adams crew win.

And Now...

Here is a shot I took of Si Gray, the mind & driving force behind new band in the making "And Now..."
The band were fortunate enough to have a song titled "John Dillinger" featured on the skateboard dvd which came free with this months Sidewalk Skate Mag, "The Big Push 09" on the Team Shiner edit.
you can watch the edit and vote for Shiner at http://bigpush.mpora.com/
please vote for Shiner, the boys need your support.

anyway,
Si is currently working on new material for "And Now..." and searching for a bassist, expect them to be gigging early in the new year. I've previewed the songs Si has written, recorded & deemed 90% of the songs "not up to scratch" and its all brilliant stuff, I cant wait to hear what he's working on now.
Si is an amazing musician, an undeniable talent at its rawest. Definitely one to watch and not to be taken for granted.

Look out for "And Now..."

Carl Vance

I bumped into Carl Vance at ABD Skate shop on his most recent visit back to Ipswich. (Last time we saw each other, we were both a little worse for wear at Uttys wedding reception...)
So we decided to go for a sesh at the new Felixstowe skate park. After both slamming because of stones, slippery surface & pikey kids we shot this photo of a true Vance styled boosted yet relaxed 360 flip before he headed back to Bristol. He's still got it.

cH@Nd0$

Here are two shots of Chandos from a couple of weeks back, same trick, different angles.
I know both these photos arent great, my fault, was rushed because it was starting to rain so didn't get properly setup so apologies for that. However, this trick is amazing so the photos go up regardless! Pole jam to hippy hop off the end... its got Chandos written all over it!
He is one of my favorite people to skate with and to just be around, there is nobody like him. Such a colorful person in every sense.

Blacktop Harrison

Blactop Harrison, the outstanding rock/metal band from Ipswich launched their brand new album titled "No Direction - Semaphore" on the thursday night just gone by. The four piece band played to a full house at The Blue Room, premiering songs from the new cd which sounded great. Blacktop play with power and finesse which seems to be a rarity in bands these days. This quality is also there in abundance on there recordings. A complete pleasure to hear and to see perform.

The band also have some music featuring on
The Big Push 09 DVD on the TEAM SHINER edit. which is out free with this months Sidewalk skate mag. You can also view Big Push at... http://bigpush.mpora.com/

Every member of this band fucking smashes it. Blacktop Harrison are a refreshing change. Go see them play for yourselve
s, you wont be disappointed.
Here are my photographs from the night of the album launch.

Cindy Frey

Here is a photo I had completely forgotten about.
I took this when I visited Belgium to see friend & photographer Cindy Frey for a few days in July for her "Ink Passion" gallery/book launch.
Here she was laughing at my "smile" tattoo on my finger. "your tattoo works Sam!"

Cindy now has "Ink Passion" 2010 calenders available at... http://cindyfrey.bigcartel.com/

Ben Raemers

Heres a photo I shot of Ben Raemers 100% going where no man has gone before with this ridiculous ollie from tiny bank to tiny bank, over some lengthy flat. Full blown NBD. Until now its only been skated as a manny pad. Mad props for this one Ben.
Also a couple of fun portraits, one of him hanging on a roof and one of his recently inked arm (this is what happens when drunk in America) he added the essex part to it himself on the big push this year which, hopefully this footage will be on the dvd which will be in the next issue of Sidewalk skate mag.

Also Ben has turned 19 years old today so a huge happy birthday mate! He's had a very successful year from winning comps, filming for various video parts & also getting on Enjoi skateboards. Here's to another great year which is no doubt coming.
the link below is the video for his Enjoi introduction...

JD (not the one from Tennessee)

JD. No not the one from Tennessee known for getting you messed up on those crazy nights, the one from Ipswich known locally for his antics on and off his skateboard. Jamie Dyer has turned 24 years today, so Happy Birthday dude!
Here is a photo of him I've been sitting on for a couple of weeks. Jamie, kicker to high bs tail slide. Killed it!
